SIR SINGEN SMYTHE -

Head of all operations at Bluesmoke is Sir Singen Smythe. A former SAS and Army Commander, Smythe's reputation is legendary throughout the military world, rumoured to have fought in most major wars and conflicts over the past fifty years.

After retiring from the army  during the late 1960's, Smythe was put in charge of setting up and running -  'Bluesmoke' - a new cut price government secret service agency. Smythe is personally responsible for handpicking all agents, most of which are MI5 rejects.  Although actually now retired as an undercover agent, Smythe still likes to take on the occasional job, often landing himself in more trouble than he can cope with and usually having to rely on "his boys" to come and rescue him.

Smythe has twelve failed marriages behind and countless children scattered around the globe, he also has rumoured connections with the royal family.

Known for his short temper and no nonsense approach, Smythe is feared throughout the criminal and secret service world alike, often referred to by Bluesmoke as "the old man", he is as often ashamed of them as he is proud.

Over the decades Smythe and Bluesmoke have fought and defeated many enemies, though none have kept coming back for more, or have caused them as much trouble as arch enemy Henderson.

Smythe and Bluesmoke first encounter Henderson after he kidnapped the President's daughter

Many years later Henderson was released from Briggsdale Prison and out for revenge. Taking Sir Singen Smythe hostage, Henderson brutally tortured him by ripping his teeth out and biting off a finger.

After having his finger bitten off by Henderson, Smythe was later forced to have his whole hand removed when the wound became infected. His hand was replaced by his now trademark hook. His other trademark, the eye patch was due to an unspecified injury in the line of duty many years before.

Smythe would later encounter Henderson's at 'Monkhouse Institute' for the criminally insane, where Henderson was a prisoner. Smythe had turning to Henderson for help to catch mysterious bomber 'King Lion' in exchange for better prison conditions.

Smythe will never be free of Henderson, and the war between them will never end, each man always swearing revenge against the other.

Sir Singen Smythe is brought loudly to life with real screen presence by Sir Adrian Parker who is a constant scene stealer in all three Bluesmoke films.
